A Vuci maiden heralds the new beginning signified by the opening of her village's new meeting place.

This ceremony depicted here shows the Grand Opening of the new Raturagalevu Hall and Evacuation Centre in Vuci, Tokatoka, Tailevu. Among amenities provided in this new building are a library/kindergarten, offices for the village headman and community health worker, a dining hall and mobility ramps for disabled villagers.

This project was succesfully funded by village fundraising and counterpart funding by the Ministry of iTaukei Affairs, for total costing of $450,000. Prime Minister of Fiji, Sitiveni Rabuka, was chief guest at the opening.
